Ctrl Alt Trek Episode 002 - Head Start
Aprillian

Off ship, toons have mass. Naming concept nice. Toon@Forumnames, gives a way of associating. (If your forum name is same as your log in name you should contact support as having your account name visible could lead to hacking..)

People are solid
Quest are Linear

Issues with not being in the same "Instance" as party member.

What is Pause Zone?
Open Teams vs Closed Teams

Childish Sulu jokes in chat are annoying and insulting

Big shoutout to Kelsey, Myia and Blake Beeler. They are three of my martial arts students who bought me the Star Trek shirt I am wearing tonight for Christmas. They already know their instructor is a geek. Aprillian said pic or it didn't happen.

End of Beta was incredible. I only had an hour but in that time I defended the earth, got toasted by a ton of Borg ships that caught me in sector space and just had a great time ushering out the beta. Wife played during this time and I ended up buying her a lifetime membership too.

The merits I was talking about in the last episode are not only what you use to purchase new crew members but those same merits are used for leveling. Thanks to Snapperhead for that info.

Forums went down at 7am PST and the excitement builds until launch. Was able to leave work early due to a winter storm and get into headstart.

Got logged in and my Borg is not ready yet :( They are working on fixing it. But I loaded my old 9 foot tall alien (I had saved his looks from beta). Load screens are much faster so far. Instancing works great I am not overcrowded atm.

Got my Borg toon. We are Bouvacutus. Waiting on wife's account to be fixed before leveling them. Only Borg option you get is human or Klingon. Would have liked to been more unique. Maybe later they will patch it. They have an option for Twitchy when he is standing still. Kind of like Data sometimes. I like it. I missed my 9 ft tall aliens so a couple of them are my crewmembers.

Wife was able to get her Borg character and we started leveling together

Gufoni let me know where to spend all the minerals, etc. Memory Alpha.

You can go back with team members and do quests already completed.

Tribbles in your bag with food multiply. I have all my Bridge Officers equipped with them. Nice quick non-combat heal.

Huge Que on Sunday. Alot of people are not happy. I know a couple of our members spent over an hour trying to get in.

Wolf 359 is incredible solemn space. Like a gigantic graveyard.

Open up your status window Right click on Body and Kit to hide them so you can see your uniform.

I am happy to report that last night I made it to Lt. Commander, again, and now have my cruiser, again. So you could say I am right back where I was last week.

Yes, I Signed Up For The ST:O Beta

Is it STO or ST:O? I had to sell out to a twitter/blogger by twittering his "party line" to get the beta key. Then I had to spend an entire day, well 12 hours downloading the file on my crappy Acer Netbook. Nice to know that thing was good for something. An awful lot to go through. I started it before I left for work and it didn't finish until way after bedtime. Plus I had to install BootCamp & Windows XP on my beautiful 13 inch MacBook Pro just to be able to play.

I created a character before heading to bed. The next morning I played a little more, it was very intriguing and I can see the possibilities. I was sad, because I didn't want to like it. I play a little MMORPG called World of Warcraft and I also do a little podcast for that game. The thought of taking on another MMORPG scared me, and the thought of leaving WoW scared me even more.
